The RECIPIENT of BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall obtain a prior written consent on use of it from the DEPOSITOR. In publishing the research results obtained by use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, a citation of the following literature(s) designated by the DEPOSITOR is requested. Identification and characterization of stem cells in prepubertal spermatogenesis in mice. Dev. Biol., 258, 209-225 (2003). The DEPOSITOR should be a co-author in articles when the users publish their data using these mice for 1 year after provided to the RIKEN BRC. <br>Users should contact the DEPOSITOR in the case of application for any patents with the results from these mice.

Oct-4/EGFP transgenic mice carry EGFP (enhanced green fluorescence protein) cDNA under control of an Oct4 18-kb genomic fragment containing the minimal promoter and proximal and distal enhanced. (Dev Biol 2003). The Oct-4 gene expresses in primordial germ cells and undifferentiated spermatogonia in new born mice. This strain is useful to isolate living primordial germ cells which specifically express green fluorescent protein at various stages of embryonic development.

POU転写因子Oct-4 (Pou5f1) 遺伝子を含む18kbのゲノム断片 (Genomic Oct-4 Fragment of 18) とGFP遺伝子との融合遺伝子を導入したトランスジェニックマウス (Dev Biol 2003) 。Oct-4遺伝子は始原生殖細胞特異的に発現する遺伝子であり、始原生殖細胞 (PCG) を蛍光により区別、観察することが可能。
